HISTORIC ATTENDANCE & SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT AT AFRICA FOREX TRADING EXPO MARCH 2026

Guest for the Day, Sylvia Muchai Founder and CEO at STL.

It has been a minute since I was hosted for a forex event as a guest speaker. This quarter pushed me beyond my comfort zone. At first, when the CEO for Africa Forex Trading Expo reached out to me last year, it felt like a far fetched dream since the event was to happen months later. The event brought together fintech companies, forex brokerage firms, traders, AI techies and payment solutions companies. On the first day, I was honored to give a speech about Sylvia’s Traders Lounge focusing on the place for women in trading.

Thereafter, I invited all my colleagues and we networked with different stakeholders in the industry cementing new business partnerships and synergies that will run for decades to come. The founder of Africa Trading Academy, my mentor and friend from Cyprus Jonathan was in the house. Look out for our collaboration initiative from 1st of April this year on both our websites.

Day 1 ended with a gala dinner that saw us interacting and enjoying some down time with some key sponsors for the event. This is where my team and I slowly eased into different discussions over a meal while getting entertained and listening to some of the legends in the trading industry locally. Business cards were exchanged, new friendships were made. It was worth the stay till 10:00pm over dinner. I got home and slept in preparation for Day 2.

I received an interview from KTN and Business Daily. The excerpts from the conversation we had will be on the media page of our website; www.forexstl.com. On Day 2, I sat at a panel and shared about my trading journey. A story that related to most traders in the audience. One of losing money in the first year of learning how to trade. The moderator for the event was a former colleague for a company that shut down following the digital media migration back in 2014-2015. This is also the time I opened my first trading account with a UK options company to my ignorance thinking it was a forex brokerage firm. My three year learning hiatus saw me open my education consultancy @Sylvia’s Traders Lounge to equip traders with knowledge and save them the time, energy and money lost it took me to learn how to trade forex.

I would like to thank Zach from Africa Forex Trading Expo and Cynthia Shitoko for organizing such a historic and the first ever trading expo in Nairobi Kenya. Cheers to all the sponsors, speakers, firms and traders that showed up to make the event a huge success.
